Privacy Policy

1. Information collected

This app collects no personal information. Specifically, it does not collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact details
• Your Apple ID or any account information
• Your precise or approximate location (location permission is used only on-device to centre the map — it is never sent to our servers)
• Your device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or similar)
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or diagnostic data
• Any in-app behaviour, searches, or saved favourites
• Payment information (all purchases are handled entirely by Apple)

2. How we use information

Because we collect no information, there is nothing for us to use, process, sell, or share.

3. Location access

The app requests optional access to your device's location for one purpose only: to centre the map on where you are so you can see nearby churches. This happens entirely on your device.

• Your location coordinates are never transmitted to our servers or any third party
• Your location is not stored or logged anywhere
• You can deny location permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services — the app will still work; you can scroll the map manually

We only request location access "While Using the App" — we never request always-on background location.

4. Third-party services

Catholic Church Map does not integrate any of the following:

• Advertising networks or ad SDKs
• Analytics platforms (e.g. Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
• Crash reporting services (e.g. Crashlytics, Sentry)
• Social media SDKs
• Marketing or tracking pixels of any kind

The map tiles displayed in the app are loaded from a map tile provider as part of normal network activity. This is equivalent to loading any webpage — your IP address may appear in that provider's server logs, which is governed by their own privacy policy, not ours.

5. Children's privacy

Because we collect no personal data from anyone, there is no special risk to children. The app is suitable for all ages.

6. Data retention

We retain no data. Anything stored by the app (e.g. your saved favourites) lives only on your device and is removed when you delete the app.

7. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, rights such as data access, correction, or erasure do not apply in practice. However, if you have any concerns, you are welcome to contact us and we will respond promptly.

If you are in the EU or UK, note that this app falls outside the scope of the GDPR and UK GDPR because no personal data is processed.

8. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. We will never introduce data collection without updating this policy first and, where required, seeking your consent.
